Long term complications of cancer therapy Cardiology (#12)
Much literature has been published that consistently show a relationship between specific cancer treatments and cardiac toxicity. As outcomes continue to improve with advances in the treatment of cancer, long term cardiac complications (and related mortality and morbidity) of treatment will be more of a concern. This presentation summarises the problem of long term cardiac complications of cancer therapy, including underlying mechanisms of cardiotoxicity, and potential ways to modulate cardiotoxicity using preventive or management strategies.
