Laureate Professor Rob Sanson-Fisher has published over 370 peer-reviewed papers, with a majority focusing on cancer control. He was the inaugural director of the Hunter Centre for Health Advancement the New South Wales Cancer Education Research Program and the National Cancer Control Institute which later merged into Cancer Australia. He has also won a number of awards including, Officer of the Order of Australia for his work in improving public health outcomes, Honorary Doctor of Science from the University of Waterloo and Make a Difference award from Cancer Institute NSW.
