Exercise in the management of fatigue in lung cancer (#85)
Fatigue is a common and often debilitating symptom for patients with lung cancer. Exercise interventions have emerged as a powerful tool to help ameliorate fatigue and other symptoms as well as improve treatment-related outcomes in patients with cancer but much of the prior data did not include patients with lung cancer. More recently several groups have reported favourable results including improved symptom scores after exercise interventions in patients during or after treatment for lung cancer. However there are many unanswered questions about how best to target and deliver exercise interventions for patients with advanced disease who are often the most symptomatic.
