Mary is an international tobacco control advocate with more than 20 years of experience. She is a Malaysian based at the Cancer Council Australia, responsible for the International Tobacco Control Project which supports tobacco control policy development in the ASEAN region. She is Senior Policy Advisor to the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance. She obtained her PhD at the School of Public Health, University of Sydney and her research reviewed internal industry documents. She serves as an adjunct senior lecturer at the School of Public Health. She was the recipient of the 2003 Luther Terry Award for outstanding individual leadership in Tobacco Control.
