Professor Anna Ugalde leads a research program delivering improvements in cancer care. She has held four sequential fellowships including a current Victorian Cancer Agency mid career fellowship. Professor Ugalde is the principal investigator of the ECORRA Program (Equitable Cancer Outcomes across Rural and Remote Australia), which consists of a series of projects aiming to reduce cancer inequities. This includes a Medical Research Future Fund Early-Mid Career Researcher Grant, Stream 2, $4.9M, for a project to embed best practice cancer care into rural health services.
Professor Ugalde's research implements new programs and performs evaluations of existing models and programs, encompassing the fields of implementation science, behavioural science, supportive care, digital health and health services research. This program is characterised by partnerships across the sector with government, academics, health services, consumers and community, driving direct health impact.
