Dr Zhu is Director of Academic Program of Chinese Medicine, School of Science and Health at the University of Western Sydney (UWS). She is also an active researcher at the National Institute of Complementary Medicine, Australia’s premier research facility in complementary medicine established by the Australian and NSW Government and hosted by UWS. Dr Zhu is an inaugural practitioner member of the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia, and serves as an editor for the Cochrane Collaboration. Dr Zhu has a strong research profile and expertise in clinical research and Cochrane systematic reviews in relation to acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine with particular interests in cancer and women’s health. She has a proven track record in the field, this includes her research publications in high-impact journals, being recipient of international and national awards and research grants ($AU140K). She enjoys working with colleagues through her international collaborative projects; and she has established an extensive research network in the field. Dr Zhu is currently working with researchers at the South West Sydney Local Health District Cancer Services exploring evidenced based approaches with integration of complementary therapies in cancer survivorship.
