At age 19, Kylie was diagnosed with a Ewings Sarcoma and underwent a series of chemotherapy treatments. Two years later her brother was diagnosed with an unrelated cancer and later lost his battle. She is a qualified primary school teacher who since her diagnosis has volunteered her time to help improve the experiences of other adolescents and young adult cancer patients and their families. Kylie is the current Co-Chair of the Victorian and Tasmanian Youth Cancer Advisory Board.
