I am currently undertaking my Doctorate of Psychology (Health) at Deakin University. My doctoral thesis is examining posttraumatic stress and posttraumatic growth reactions in women with ovarian cancer. As part of this research project I have completed a systematic review and meta-analysis examining factors correlated with posttraumatic growth and symptoms of posttraumatic stress in oncology populations. The results of this review have informed a quantitative study of women with ovarian cancer that will explore the relationships between posttraumatic growth and posttraumatic stress and mood, quality of life, social support, optimism coping responses (including positive reappraisal and religious coping).
