Bruce Armstrong is internationally recognised for his research into the causes and prevention of cancer. He was instrumental, with Prostate Cancer Foundation and Cancer Council Australia leaders, in initiating development of the draft Australian guidelines for PSA testing and early management of PSA detected prostate cancer. Bruce is an Emeritus Professor at the University of Sydney, a Senior Adviser at the Sax Institute Sydney and Chairman of the Board of the NSW Bureau of Health Information. Bruce was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 1998 for his work in cancer epidemiology and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science in 2000.
