Ilona Juraskova

Ilona Juraskova (PhD, MPsychClin) is Professor of Health Psychology at the University of Sydney and an internationally recognised psycho-oncology researcher with more than 20 years’ experience in the field. Her research focuses on improving psychosocial outcomes and quality of care for people affected by cancer and their families, with particular expertise in healthcare communication, shared decision-making, and psychological adjustment across the cancer trajectory. She has led the development and evaluation of evidence-based psychosocial interventions and communication resources for people affected by cancer, family members, and health professionals, with a strong focus on translating research into clinical practice. Alongside her research, Ilona is a dedicated educator who is passionate about teaching, supervision, and mentoring the next generation of psycho-oncology researchers and clinicians.
