Kim Hobbs holds a Masters degree in Social Work and is a Clinical Specialist Social Worker at Westmead Hospital working in the gynaecological cancer unit. She works closely with the Familial Cancer Service at Westmead Hospital and provides clinical supervision to Associate Genetic Counsellors. Kim has been an investigator on several clinical research projects in psycho-oncology, as part of large multidisciplinary academic-practitioner partnerships. She has co-authored research publications in peer-reviewed journals. She has been involved in the development of communication skills training modules and in the teaching of communication skills to medical and nursing students. Kim has contributed textbook chapters on the topic of psychosocial care for people with cancer and their families.
