Dr Muralidhar V Pai, MD Professor & Head Unit 2 Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology Kasturba Medical College, Manipal After completing MD in Obstetrics & Gynecology, with Distinction & as Best Outgoing MD Candidate of Kasturba Medical College Manipal in 1989, he joined the same institution as faculty and ever since working there. During 26 years of teaching career he has taught more than 6000 UG and 300 PG students. He has won Best Teacher Award thrice (2010, 2012 & 2013). He has guided more than 20 Post graduate dissertations and he is also a Phd guide at Manipal University. He has been UG as well as PG examiner at different south Indian universities, Kathmandu University, Nepal and National University, Malaysia. He has won 4 National Level Awards namely FOGSI Corion, junior as well as senior awards for best research, FOGSI Imaging Science award, FOGSI best Article Award. He is currently the National Editor of prestigious Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology of India, National faculty of FOGSI India. He has been National Chairman of FOGSI Public Awareness Committee in 2004. He had training in Assisted Reproductive Techniques, Ultrasonography, Endoscopic Surgery at USA, UK, Germany, Belgium. He is 2 time winner of UICC Fellowship and had training management of Trophoblastic diseases at Charring Cross Hospital London, UK) (1992)and Management of carcinoma cervix at WUSTL, St Louis USA (1999) He has 84 publications and 172 presentations at National and International levels to his credit with many best paper awards. He has held positions of Hon Secretary, Vice President and President of Manipal Obstetric & Gynecological Society (MOBGS). During his tenure as President MOBGS won FOGSI National award for promoting “Save the Girl child” activities. He has organized several CMEs, workshops and Conferences in various sub-specialties of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
