Genomics for Life Pty Ltd (G4L) is Australia's first private pathology laboratory specialising in genetic testing for cancers.  

The laboratory focuses on personalised medicine, using next generation sequencing (NGS) to perform diagnostic testing on genes that have the potential to impact on patient care.

 Using state of the art equipment including automated DNA extraction, Life Technologies Ion Torrent PGM™ NGS system, Life Technologies Real-Time PCR ViiA™ 7 system and the QuantStudio™ 3D Digital PCR system, G4L tests the cancer sequence by looking at specific regions across 50 genes covering ~2,800 mutations, including genes commonly involved in cancer such as KRAS, BRAF and EGFR.

Armed with intimate knowledge of the genetic pattern of the cancer and specific mutation, these findings are compared with the results of more than 500,000 patients on a worldwide database to evaluate the mutations and identify which therapies may produce the best result.
